Antonio's specialty

To me this is so special. Since a couple of weeks Antonio can hear the heartbeat of the baby. The first time we tried was in the hallway of our apartment. Just put an empty carton of the kitchen paper or toilet paper against the belly and put your ear against it to listen to.
Of course you have to place the carton to a certain point, but you will have to find out exactly where it fits.

So we put the carton to my belly in the hallway just standing there and Antonio stretched to listen to my belly and within 2 seconds he could hear the heartbeat of our baby.

After two days he just put his ear onto my belly and listens to the little babyheart. So now just before we go to sleep that's the last thing he listens to.

Some interesting sailing facts

Because of the pregnancy it is not possible anymore to sail as a crewmember aboard the 'Altopana' during the matches.
I'm now officially downgraded to the Altopana Shore Crew.
That means most of the time that I'm still fit enough to sail the boat together with Antonio to the place of the matches. During the matches I am the one making pictures and video's during the matches from the mainland.

During our cross-over to a sailing competition we sometimes get unusual hitch-hikers.

Two weeks later........is this the same bird?

Another fact:I still get to do the after racing drinks with the crew with the slight difference of me drinking juice instead of Rum & Coke.

There is another fact about the composition of the crew. Until recently we had an 50% male/ 50% female crew. This has now been changed into an all-male crew, due tot the fact that all the women of our team are currently pregnant. There might be some rumors in the little world of competitive sailing of the First 31.7 sailers about Antonio being a young Latino/Dutch shipper with his own crew of which all of the women happened to get pregnant.

Unfortunately Mariana Reyes was not present the day we made the picture.

Antonio's thoughts...

Are we ready? We are ready!

It goes okay and we try to take it slow, take it calmly. Perhaps we'll get days, months and years of less tranquility. But they will be days of a different kind.
I think that it would be a natural thing. It has been, so far, a natural thing. I think that there is space in our lives to this.

But I believe that nor the baby neither we, are captive of the other. Everyone has his/her own live and pace. I believe that one should not sacrifice one's personality, goals, dreams for the sake of uprising dogmas.

We would change, but can we still be true to ourselves? Would we fail into quick, easy and eventually lazy choices because of these changes and the load of uprising a kid?

5 months

We are now 5 months in the preganncy and everything is okay. The baby is growing and the belly is growing.

I bought a lot of maternity clothes so I can be a descent pregnant woman. And a hip one at the same time.

We did some redecorating in the house. The hall is now the studio and the studio will become a babyroom.

And the studio has all of a sudden anti-studio-colours...........
