About the name Gaizka: it is a basque name, meaning saviour. It can be translated into "Salvador" in spanish.

Wibo is a dutch /frisian name. It is also the name of a good friend of ours.

the baby was born today at 12.36 hours in Rotterdam. It is a boy and his names are Gaizka Wibo.
He and his mother are doing fine. He weighted 3295 grams, and measured 51 centimeters lenght at birth.

proud parents to be

Today is a beautiful sunny late summer day in Holland and everybody is enjoying the weather.
So also my parents. They went to Hoek van Holland where you can enjoy the sea and all the big oceanships that arrive and leave the Port of Rotterdam.

On their way back to Arnhem they came by for a cup of coffee and it was a good moment to take the last belly pictures.
























It was also a moment of realization that Antonio and I almost never are together in the pregnancy pictures.
Well, this one makes up for all the missed picture opportunities, because it has the biggest belly!

Today is the 21st of september, where are you?

So here we are, the 40th week, hence the last week of the pregnancy. But will the baby actually come this week? Today is the 21st of september and today is due-date. But our baby will decide and so far

Last week on thursday my obstetrician (or midwife)told me that she did not want to see me again at the clinic, because: " 'next thursday' you will have a baby in your arms " . Today is next friday, so yesterday I was at the clinic again and my midwife told me that she hoped for me that the baby would come really soon.
The baby was so low in my belly, that it really won't take long anymore.
So since that day I am kind of waiting. That's weird. Today is 'next friday', so yesterday I was at the clinic again and my midwife told me that she hoped for me that the baby would come really soon. Me too, but there is only one person who will make that decision, and so far the decision has been to stay inside.

So now I still have to worry about what to cook for dinner!

But Antonio is listening to the baby's heartbeat every evening before we go to sleep and every morning before he leaves for work. Because when the baby doesn't kick for a whole hour I already start to worry.
Typical for a pregnant woman to that worried in her last weeks, people say.....

21st of september...DUE DATE

wating for the right moment

We are waiting. On the 21st of september Margreet would be 40 weeks pregnant and therefore the birth of the baby can be anytime before or after that day.
We don't know if is a boy or a girl.
We have been to the information day, we have seen the hospital facilities, we know what is next. We are ready.
Margreet is fit and healthy. The obstetricians check her every week since the beginning of this final stage.
The baby room is ready. A little bit of design, a little bit of culture (the posters come from point d'ironie # 40), and a lot of colors.
Just waiting for the right moment!
